Notice of applicants commencing an application for a compliance certificate
Applicants who have commenced an application for a compliance certificate during the period 24 October 2024 - 6 November 2024 and not yet admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria is available.
Notice of applicants commencing an application for a compliance certificate will be published on the Board’s website each fortnight for a period of 14 days and will be removed thereafter.
Relevant legislation
Section 19(8) of the Legal Profession Uniform Law 2014 (Victoria) (External link) provides that the Board is not to issue a compliance certificate until after it has given notice, in accordance with the Admission Rules, on an appropriate website of the application for admission.
Rule 12(2) of the Uniform Admission Rules 2015 (External link) specifies that the Board must ensure that notice is published on the Board's website of the name of every person who makes an application for a compliance certificate.

Lodging an objection
Any person desiring to object under section 16(3) of the Legal Profession Uniform Law 2014 (Victoria) (External link) to the admission of a particular person may do so before a Judge not less than 14 days before the day appointed for the applicant’s admission (Reg. 14.07 Supreme Court (Miscellaneous Civil Proceedings) Rules 2018) (External link).
The Victorian Legal Admissions Board will consider whether the objection may affect the applicant's eligibility or suitability for admission and as a result may either, grant, refuse or delay the issue of a compliance certificate.
If the Board considers the objection may affect eligibility or suitability it will provide a copy of the objection to the applicant and request a response within 21 days.
The objection should be sent by email to vlab@justice.vic.gov.au and clearly specify the reasons for objection and any documentation that may be relevant.
